ERM is seeking a Technical Consulting Director, Safety to play a key role in growing our business our Health and Safety team. The ideal candidate will bring technical capability and deep understanding of business processes to help our clients proactively address EHS risks and challenges.
As a senior leader, you will be responsible for supporting on a range of Health and Safety projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global technical team to share best practices. Support the successful delivery of ERM objectives by:
Providing leadership in communicating and enabling ERM’s health and safety culture. Creating and sustaining ERM's reputation for technical excellence in a technical specialism or subject matter.Developing, sharing and utilizing technical expertise outside of own BU/local footprint (at least within region). Leveraging technical excellence and thought leadership to materially contribute to the achievement of sales targets for HGHV and key clients. Meaningfully contribute in a leadership role within or otherwise with the relevant Technical Communities; being a champion for technical collaboration across (at least) own region.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help develop and implement innovative Health and Safety programs and strategies that support clients in managing their safety and compliance risks, in areas such as construction, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, and SIF prevention.Support client process safety programs by conducting Audits, PHAs, and program development activities.Develop and manage innovative, behavior and performance outcome-focused approaches and programs for a variety of clients with complex safety performance issues. Design and incorporate technical expertise in safety critical environments, for projects involving behavioral safety, safety culture and leadership, serious injury and fatality risk reduction, incident learning, and machine safety.Support incident investigations, development of corrective actions, verification/validation of controls, and learning from incidents. Support root cause analyses in conjunction with clients.Coach leaders to create organizational capacity to deliver a step-change in safety performance through powerful leadership engagement and enhanced capabilities.Assist in the development of solutions to complex technical safety issues and concerns.Contribute to expanding ERM’s Health and Safety business. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.Lead, manage performance, hire and retain, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of technical team.Manage a variety of tasks to achieve scope, budget and schedule targets while ensuring we meet and exceed our clients' expectations on deliverables.Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to build a network within and outside of ERM that will enable you to leverage your skills and solve challenging multi-disciplinary client challenges.Support our clients’ desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted assessments.ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Proactively provide technical insights that enable innovation of services and the development of associated client offerings that provide value to HGHV and key clients.
Adhere to all technical aspects of PIC governance (e.g., project technical direction, delivery oversight, and technical risk management), as agreed by project-specific PICs.
Enhance ERM's technical reputation (at least) across own region by participating in and coordinating ERM's presence at key external technical and client events, and through publishing technical papers and articles.
Build sales pipelines for key and HGHV clients, including direct interactions with prospective clients for the purpose of business development through contributing technical expertise.
Meet personal billability targets for self (and team, if applicable) and DSC targets, and commanding a premium billing rate to the extent allowed by MSA rates for key and HGHV clients.
