Weyerhaeuser is searching for a Technical Director to join our new Timberstrand facility in Monticello, AR. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position and reports directly to the Mill Manager with a dotted line to the Manufacturing Technical Expert (“MTE”) or designate.

Key Functions:

Role model our core values: Safety, Integrity, Citizenship, Sustainability and InclusionProvide technical expertise and leadership in plant process, product quality and performanceSafely and effectively manage the onsite technical staff, as well as the technical related processes and proceduresProvide mentoring and coaching to advance plant associates’ technical knowledgeLead and contribute to Continuous Improvement Projects and oversee plant level Quality related capital projectsEnsure incoming raw materials are tracked and adhere to the appropriate specificationsApply statistical process control techniques and works with department managers to actively improve QA test results, reduce process variation, improve product recovery, and improve productionOptimize and maintain product performance to meet all specified metricsDevelop and execute plant level trials and related reportingMaintain QA lab test equipmentMonitor and report the plant quality performance (month end reports) to the Product Engineering, Codes and Standards groupInteract with the technical team, engineering team, plant associates, sales team, and customers as it relates to products manufactured and/or quality claimsInvestigate Quality Notifications thoroughly and provide timely feedback including identification of the appropriate root cause(s), with recommended corrections.Perform annual QMS Audits at other ELP plantsEffectively implement and maintain quality policies and procedures (Quality Management System (QMS))Oversee adequacy of the site level job instructions and their accuracy against the Manufacturing Standards and BOPs

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $97,400 to $146,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
