The Technical Early Engagement Manager works as a key member of the Early Engagement Team positioning FPS for long term strategic targets with technical and commercial studies for clients. Support achieving Sales, Order and Margin targets for FPS business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the technical early engagement process with clients, developing strong relationships, and ensuring alignment between client needs and our technical solutions. You will play a key role in driving new business opportunities and fostering collaboration between internal technical teams and external clients.
 

As a Technical Early Engagement Commercial Leader, you will be responsible for:

Contributing to the Early Engagement Strategy and implementation – contributing to the Capture Planning, Long-Term Deal Prioritization and Early Engagement pipeline processes.  

Being comfortable challenging others, have great relationship building skills, be a confident customer negotiator and have an unwavering drive to succeed.

Having a customer focused mindset and be able to embed the culture within the deal/project teams – Customer Centric.

Ensuring deal/project knowledge continuity exists throughout the ‘project lifecycle.

Leading the opportunity pursuit working in close partnership with the relevant Sales teams, Product Management and Technical team in Newcastle to oversee early engagement studies, partner selections, tendering activities, contract finalizations and project mobilizations.

Engaging in the start of the Capture Planning Process – directing focus towards Ultra Early Engagement.

Influencing Customer choices, including Rigid vs Flexible to position Baker Hughes to win whilst ensuring adherence to Customer requirements/outcomes and Customer specifications.

The role will be Global with focus on North America and Latin America for both Offshore and Onshore applications and will require travelling.

Working in close collaboration with the Product Management, Engineering and Supply Chain functions to develop new models and solutions to add value.

Understanding customer drivers and Tender requirements and translate these into actionable and winning opportunity strategies.

Supporting any other Commercial and Business priorities and initiatives as required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

A bachelor's degree from a college or a university is required for this position.

10 years of experience in a technical sale, engineering, business development, or client engagement role in the oil/gas industry

10 years' experience with leading technical engagements, flexible pipeline projects and driving business growth.

10 years' experience with client relations in the oil/gas industry

Be a strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven approach to client engagement.

Have the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events. This may include both domestic and international travel.
