Role Overview:

The Technical Engineer will support the Asset Manager Renewables UK in managing the strategic and commercial operation of all UK Renewable Generation assets (wind, solar, and battery storage) to prescribed technical, quality, and safety standards. This role involves optimizing financial performance and ensuring the seamless transition of new build projects from construction to full commercial operation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Enforce health and safety standards. Manage the day-to-day operations of renewable assets. Oversee contract management for all renewables assets. Coordinate the transfer of new build projects into commercial operation. Integrate newly acquired operational assets. Manage maintenance and contractors. Develop and maintain operations and maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures. Monitor and report on the technical and commercial performance of assets. Manage services under LTMA/LTSA agreements. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, production, and financial targets. Implement initiatives to improve technical, health, safety, and environmental performance. Produce and review method statements and risk assessments. Communicate with the Asset Manager and trading teams for effective plant optimization. Manage and coordinate BOP maintenance programs. Ensure procurement aligns with company policies and procedures. Foster relationships with key external parties (e.g., local authorities, communities, landowners). Perform site inspections and audit contractor performance. Implement site safety rules to mitigate system-derived hazards. Conduct onsite maintenance activities within individual skills and competence. Act as an Authorisation Officer for Renewables and support the Corporate Safety Rules Officer. Respond to emergencies, site outages, and changing circumstances.

Qualifications/Experience:

Experience in renewable-technology operations   Managing contractors and suppliers. Developing and using maintenance management systems. Budget setting and control, procurement policy, and systems. Higher National Certificate in Engineering or equivalent.   IOSH /NEBOSH Safely Certificate.   HSE - Appointed First Aider.   Senior Authorised Person status (up to and including 33KV)   Working at Height Certificate   Hub Rescue   Experience of assisting in the development and supervision of new build construction projects  Experience in the construction and commissioning of power generation projects
