Job Summary:
The APU Engineering Technical Lead will provide project Engineering leadership for Thermo King products in the North American APU portfolio. This individual will be the technical lead for new product development projects, responsible for applying Engineering principles and technical rigor to develop solutions that satisfy product performance and safety requirements, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Responsibilities:
Engineering Technical Lead for New Product Development (NPD) projects, responsible for technical input into project Quality/Delivery/Cost (QDC) targets and overall execution of Engineering tasks to meet project QDC targets as well as product performance and safety requirements.Lead the Engineering team through generating, evaluating, and analyzing design concepts for mechanical, electrical, and controls sub-systems and components.Develop and lead project plan, prioritize tasks, and ensure clear technical requirements in collaboration with product development teams and key suppliers.Create Engineering resource plan and monitor resource needs throughout project execution.Present materials and recommendations in formal engineering design review and project gate review environments.Strong focus on system / architecture design and facilitating design decisions: thoroughly evaluating tradeoffs, selection and integration of components to meet new product requirements provided by Product Management.Lead team through integration, verification, and validation of sub-systems, identifying system interdependencies and effects on sub-system interfaces.Coordinate and collaborate with various Engineering support groups to develop technical management plan with mitigation plan for technical risks.Collaborate with and leverage internal cross-functional (Test Lab, Manufacturing and Operations, Finance, Quality, Procurement, Service, etc.), cross-business unit Engineering and Manufacturing groups, and key suppliers to meet project deliverables.Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering designs, drawings, Bill of Materials, test plans/reports, and project documentation.Domestic & International travel (up to 10%) may be required
Qualifications:
Key Competencies:
· Knowledge and application of systems engineering concepts.
Knowledge of vapor compression cycle, HVAC technologies, controls and system architectureStrong project planning/management and organizational skills.Ability to quickly and efficiently understand, condense, and organize information to make informed engineering decisions.Familiarity with Pro/Engineer or Creo and Windchill PLM is an advantage.Demonstrated experience with Design, Quality & Reliability processes, supplier qualification and part approval requirements.Thrive at work and at home:

Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite at minimum 3 days each week at our Minneapolis facility and is considered a safety-sensitive role.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $110,000-135,000/annually
