Technical Events Manager **Employment Type:** Full Time **Date Posted:** 3/3/2025 **Location:** London, UK **Pay Range:** Negotiable **Job Number:** JO-2503-2611 **Primary Function** We are seeking a Technical Events Manager in London to work within Broadcast Events Services Team, based onsite with our client who is one of the world’s leading corporate banking companies. This role is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Senior Technicians and Technicians to deliver end-to-end event services including technical coordination, presentation setup and support, AV/VC services, streaming, and event management, ensuring the highest levels of customer service and consistent experience for internal event organisers. The ideal candidate should have a high technical background, proven track record of successfully planning and delivering events, strong problem-solving skills, quantifiable leadership talents, exposure to installed audio-visual systems, high level experience within team and project management. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Manages, mentors and coaches a team of senior technicians and technicians + Inspires the technical team to deliver their best work while nurturing an environment of collaboration and continuous learning + Owns the technical proficiency measurement process; assesses team and individual skills, and puts in place training initiatives to develop proficiency + Mentors the team to achieve operational excellence across technical delivery and stakeholder experience + Conducts regular 1:1’s ensuring that feedback is provided regularly and progress is being made against goals + Effectively manages the performance of direct reports through formal and informal channels + Ensures appraisals are completed for all direct reports, including goal setting for the upcoming period + Acts as a representative of the leadership team, playing an active role in demonstrating company values and leading by example + Represents the technical team in client engagements + Collaborates with the client to implement technical enhancements + Attends and actively participates in client meetings, maintaining close contact with other global team leads to ensure effective communication. + Communicates effectively to explain our services to technical and non-technical clients as needed + Builds and presents Monthly, Quarterly and Annual business review meetings to illustrate patterns and trends, explaining observations, predicting future trends, and finding solutions to maintain or improve service quality + Collaborates with the client to assist in planning and executing offsite events. **Skills & Qualifications** + Oversees the successful planning, staffing and delivery of event requests, held within the clients fully equipped event spaces + Actively operates within the event spaces when required + Owns the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing stakeholder experience and technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution and post event + Supports with the planning and delivery of domestic and international offsite events + Reports staff, client or technical failures to the management team, and responsible for gathering information required to complete the associated fault forms, within an agreed SLA time period, along with ideas to avoid a repeat occurrence + Ensures SOPs are applied, and that contingency planning is included in event support + Escalates equipment failures to appropriate inhouse teams and assists with the resolution as needed to maintain service levels + Overall responsibility for the technical team successfully meeting SLAs and KPIs + Leads on R&D efforts, identifying ways in which we can improve quality of output through technology or workflows. + Creates, or oversees the creation, of SOP documents, completing detailed event reporting as well as utilising internal systems. + Performs other ad hoc duties as required by the business **Education & Experience** + Minimum 7 years of professional technical live event production experience + Excellent communication skills + Able to operate a range of installed AV systems to an advanced level + Strong proficiency in operating broadcast, A/V, video editing, encoding systems + Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong client relationships + Experience in interacting with C-Suite level stakeholders and talent + 3+ years experience of line managing a team of AV and Events technicians at varying levels + Ability to work events beyond the normal working day, including limited evenings and weekends + Ability to travel to domestic and international events as required + Strong organisational skills + Creative in solving problems for various stakeholders + Operational knowledge of broadcast, A/V, video editing, encoding systems **To Apply** Use the link at the bottom of this page to apply.
