Technical Expert - Evaporator Blower Assembly

This position will lead the global thermal systems teams in HVAC Evaporator & Blower Assembly (EBA) development.  HVAC EBA is a large contributor to cost of quality within the company.  This position will optimize EBA designs and will interface with Air Handling, Refrigerant and Controls teams within thermal systems.

>10 years of experience in HVAC EBA designs and development. Extensive knowledge of EBA architectures and designs. Master of Engineering (electrical, mechanical, controls, systems, etc.) preferred. Demonstrated systems engineering approach to vehicle refrigerant systems. Proven history of evaluating choices and directing a team based on technical ideals balanced with industrialization realities. Key: Ability to lead and align collections of people that do not directly report to this position.  Ability to institutionalize the key factors of thermal systems success and lessons learned through documentation (design rules, requirements, technical design guides, etc.) and to teach associated learning sessions. Ability to form an opinion, communicate it effectively at all levels, and drive the company in a winning direction.

Responsible (Owner) for the creation and maintenance of the Core Engineering Documents (FMA Documents, Requirements and Test Procedures, etc.)  Lead Technical Design Reviews for EBA designs developed by FSS. Integral to Signoff of EBA assembly and sub-components with specific signoff responsibility BEFORE Chief Signoff Go-To for Problem Solving – Launch, Recall, Quality / Field Issues Coach, Mentor and Train Able to lead technical discussions and deep dives to deliver optimized air handling subsystem. Support global applications teams with refrigerant system sign off and quality issue resolution. Optimize designs for Cost reduction while maintaining quality performance. Interact with Air Handling, NVH and Controls teams. Collaborate with subsystem and component Technical Specialist within the company and with external suppliers.  Able to lead EBA architectures to deliver overall vehicle attributes. Able to lead new technology/supplier development.  Able to lead EBA strategy papers such as Modularity, Commodity Business Plan. Lead technical assessment of supplier designs and provide recommendation for sourcing. Provide technical support for cost reduction ideas and quality issues. Support lab testing at MPG facility as needed. Lead prevent recurrence actions across programs. Can speak with confidence and authority but is humble and collaborative in leading a technical review and debate.
