Technical Expert - Thermal Systems: Refrigerant Fill / Coolant Fill / Service

You will be a team member in the Vehicle Thermal Systems Core Engineering group.  Your primary objective will be to lead Thermal Systems Interaction with Vehicle Operations and Customer Service for global markets including all engine variants – ICE, PHEV, FHEV and BEV.  You will also be responsible for  developing testing and equipment for new refrigerants and technologies globally. 

You'll have...

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related degree. 5+ years minimum experience in thermal systems. 2+ years experience with automotive refrigerant systems, cooling systems, and air handling systems. Self-directed, confident, and resilient individual with excellent communication skills.

Even better, you may have...

Knowledge of Ford engineering processes and systems (i.e. GQRS, GTDS). Design and Release experience and vehicle launch experience a plus. Knowledge of Teamcenter, TcVis Mockup and ability to move, align, modify and freeze components and assemblies a plus. Familiar with software control tools (i.e. Git, Jira, Matlab, Simulink) a plus. Familiar with powertrain calibration methods a plus. Familiar with software integration test tools (i.e. CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, ATI) a plus. Familiar with automotive communication standards (i.e. CAN/CAN-FD/Automotive Ethernet) a plus. Proven ability to participate effectively and lead cross-functional teams. Ability to work in non-structured environment where creativity and a start-up mentality is encouraged. Motivation to work in a fast-moving environment. Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues and effectively communicate to management. Demonstrated ability to effectively represent the company and interact with suppliers. Ability to communicate clearly and express new ideas to all levels of management. Demonstrated delivery of results. Ability to balance objectives and resolve conflicts. Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and follow-up. Knowledge of Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong English skills.

Lead Thermal Systems Refrigerant Evac and Fill Process with VO. Lead global refrigerant updates with VO & Ford Service counterparts; new evac and fill equipment, new service charge equipment, etc. Lead Thermal Systems Coolant Evac and Fill Process with VO.

What you'll do...

Lead Annual VO Plant Line walks / affinity Reviews for Thermal Systems. Lead VO EOL Testing Process for Thermal Systems: Hardware and System functional checks for coolant, refrigerant and air handling systems. Lead Thermal Systems generic procedure updates in workshop manuals. Develop and write new service and diagnostic procedures for new technologies, etc. SPOC for VO Interface & Process: Generic Assembly, Repair, Cal Line, EOL Testing, SCAFF, DPA changes, etc. Lead Quality & Process Improvement actions at VO Plants for Thermal Systems. Develop training and mentor global engineers in VO / Service requirements. Develop and release test methods and requirements related to Vehicle Operations/Assembly and Customer Service for all Global Programs. Support TVM and Warranty Spend Initiatives. Work with component and system engineers and provide technical guidance. Work with software suppliers to improve software capabilities. Capture lessons learned/PRA and develop updated test plans, requirements and specifications.
