Team Overview:

Impinj is seeking a Technical Fellow to join our Platform Engineering team. In this position you will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team to research and develop innovative RAIN RFID solutions. Our integrated RAIN RFID platform brings together RAIN RFID tags, reader & gateways, and signal processing algorithms to solve customer use cases. In this position you will work side-by-side with members of our platform system, software and hardware teams to lead the design, development and test of innovative new RAIN RFID reader and gateway solutions and use case algorithms. The successful candidate will also collaborate with our outside partners and customers to drive the development and deployment of RAIN RFID solutions, based on the Impinj platform. Our platform of tags, readers & gateways, and software is what allows us to give a digital identity to billions of everyday items. What you will do:

Partner with members of our platform system, software and hardware teams to lead the design, development and test of innovative new RAIN RFID reader and gateway solutions and use cases algorithms. Collaborate and act as trusted adviser to partners and customers as they develop and deploy novel RAIN RFID solutions based on the platform. Lead the development of proof of concept Platform features and capabilities for customers to show potential uses of the platform. Help pioneer applications of our RAIN RFID platform in ways which have yet to be envisioned. Work primarily in our Seattle headquarters with some time also being spent at our Impinj Design Lab (IDL) in Fremont. Some occasional travel to customer and partner site will be required.

What you'll bring:

Strong engineering fundamentals backed by a minimum Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent. Masters or PhD in EE along with relevant research work is ideal. 15+ Years Experience is required. Experience leading interdisciplinary teams. Experience with taking a project from the research phase to development phase and on through to production and deployment. Proficient in at least one scripting and system analysis language such as Python and/or Matlab. Experience in at least one object-oriented programming like C, C++, or Java. Basic knowledge of Communication Theory, basic algorithms, and Signal Processing, both in theory and in practical applications. Comfortable working in an Agile development process. Ability to optimally communicate both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences and be able to adjust your communication style accordingly. The benefits listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Impinj and the country where you work.

The typical base pay range for this role across the US is $199,000to $320,000. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
