Team Overview:

Join our Systems Engineering team, where you will be responsible for the requirements, architecture, algorithm design, and integration of RFID radio systems. Our team collaborates closely with Product Management and Platform Engineering to translate customer needs and use cases into technical requirements. We work in tandem with Silicon, Firmware, Hardware, and Product Test Engineering teams to implement, integrate, and test products and solutions. Our primary focus is on enhancing RFID radio system performance ongoing work includes, link and system level simulation and modeling, DSP algorithm R&D and product and solution performance analysis, integration and test activities in the lab. 

What You Will Do:

Work closely with platform system, software, and hardware teams to lead the design, development, and testing of innovative RAIN RFID reader and gateway solutions. Model system performance, identify bottlenecks, and derive technical requirements related to radio and MAC. Determine radio and MAC architectures that best address performance, cost, power, reliability, flexibility and objectives. Research, define, implement, integrate, and test DSP algorithms. Drive the innovation of new applications for our RAIN RFID platform to enhance system capabilities. Occasionally travel to customer and partner sites to understand their needs and ensure successful implementation of our solutions.

What You’ll Bring:

Strong engineering fundamentals backed by a minimum master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent. PhD in EE along with relevant research work is ideal. 15+ Years Experience in implementing DSP algorithms in wireless communication systems or radar systems. Experience with taking a project from the research phase to development phase and on through to production and deployment. Proficient in Python and/or Matlab, working knowledge in C/C++, RTL. Comfortable working in an Agile development process. Ability to optimally communicate both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences and be able to adjust your communication style accordingly. Dedication to a collaborative, respectful, accountable and inquisitive working style and work environment.

Compensation and Benefits: 

The benefits listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Impinj and the country where you work.

The typical base pay range for this role across the US is $199,000 - $320,000. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. 
 
At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
