Summary About the Position: Serves under broad general administrative direction of a Branch Chief, U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) who provides overall objectives and broad aspects of work assignments and guidance relative to policies, priorities, and budgetary matters Responsibilities Formulating and conduct geospatial and advisory work directed at applying unique and complex terrain and physical sciences information to military planning and operational requirements Serve as Technical Information Specialist providing support to US Government personnel, predominantly DoD Establish and maintain currency of data requirements in accordance with the agency mission Provide reach-back expert Geospatial imagery and information services support for contingency operations and to support the Army Service customer requirements for materials held by the agency and for referral information on holdings of major Washington Metropolitan area repositories Provides reports to branch chief or team lead as directed, developing, and maintaining records for this purpose Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify at the GS-12 level Specialized experience is defined as: Utilize various methods to collect data related to physical sciences; maintain data in a records holding environment; and identify the most appropriate method of data collection for a specific topic. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data Collection and Analysis Database Management Systems Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
