Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, DC Power Utilization Management

We’re seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to oversee data center electrical infrastructure optimization projects. You will lead cross-functional and technical teams identify sub-optimal utilization, determine root causes, design solutions and drive project delivery. Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytic talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage to schedule and budget, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and be capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint. Key job responsibilities - Optimize utilization of electrical distribution systems across AWS data center fleet - Partner with electrical and mechanical engineers across data center (DC) engineering, DC operations, Field engineering teams to drive remediation for underutilized equipment - Develop and evolve SOPs for remediation of oversubscribed electrical distribution systems in partnership with electrical engineering teams - Work with software development teams to enhance existing software solutions for optimal server rack placement with data center cold aisles to balance loads - Create and maintain executable plans for server rack migrations to manage electrical load within data centers A day in the life About AWS Diverse Experiences AWS values diverse experiences. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience - Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software) - Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds Preferred Qualifications - Master’s Degree or advanced professional degree. - Master’s Degree or advanced professional certifications in management of complex, high value technology infrastructure projects. - Good understanding of data center technologies. - Experience in managing data center infrastructure deployments. - Experience with and deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies. - Well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
