We are looking for a Technical Instructor to join our team at the Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy Training Centre in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

What will you be doing?
As a member of the Training Team, you will be responsible for the practical execution of on-site and local training activities in the Ft. Lauderdale Training Centre for our external and internal customers.
As an ideal candidate, you have strong professional knowledge and significant experience with ship power or power plant installations, commissioning, services, or plant operation. Knowledge of Wärtsilä technology will be highly valued, preferably with a focus on Dual Fuel and LNG solutions, combined with a strong understanding of internal combustion engine technology.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The practical execution of training in our WLSA training centre or on-site. Delivering of theoretical training from the Training Centre, or from your home office. Developing new training material, concepts, and equipment in WLSA training centre in Ft. Lauderdale. Actively partaking in training delivery related day-to-day activities. Continuously strengthening your knowledge of Wärtsilä products. Staying up to speed on the latest industry technologies. Deliver the training in a keen way and under consideration of total safety and environmental impact aspects. Provide technical support for internal and external customers. Participate in projects in which technical knowledge and experience is of importance.The below will enable you to succeed in this role:
Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering degree, or similar relevant educational background. Professional knowledge and experience with installation, operation and/or maintenance of ship power generation equipment. Great interpersonal and communication skills, and a desire to work in multicultural environment. Quality, safety, and environmental skills. Proficient English language level, both verbal and written (other languages will be considered an advantage). Significant experience with the maritime and/or power plant industry, or similar. Result- and development-oriented way of working. Experience in training delivery will be highly valued; however, you will receive adequate training.

Travel Requirements: This position requires a 30% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfil these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.
