Summary:

 

We are looking for Technical Instructor IV/ Master’s Program in Nutrition Graduate Professor to provide accreditation oversite, site coordination and instruction for student experiential learning at the Graduate Level in the Army- Baylor Master’s Program of Nutrition at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, in support of the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE).

 

This position shall provide Graduate Professorial services to provide advance practice skills and abilities to enhance the knowledge of graduate nutrition students in an academic setting. Primary course work includes courses in Medical Nutrition Therapy, Public Health Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and Performance Nutrition, Research Methods and Military Specific Nutrition and Leadership courses.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Provide comprehensive educational instruction, program development – specifically the instructor would be participating in semester and annual meetings that discuss changes to the course program development under the new education model which is a didactic and competency focused program (e.g., course updates, competency changes, exam changes, worksheet/grade sheet changes, etc.), knowledge, and utilize an array of teaching modalities.Will utilize existing lesson plan content or develop appropriate curricula that are evidence-based practice standards and consistent with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accreditation standards for nutrition programs. All contractor developed materials will require Director approval. These materials would include the course items that the instructor would develop for use in the classroom) all items are uploaded onto our Learning Management System and reviewed each semester for updates, changes, identification of necessary changes. (Deliverables – Course Materials: Syllabus, worksheets, slide decks, reading materials, course activities, exams, quizzes, lesson plans, student-/facilitator guides.Teach graduate level nutrition course(s), policy, and theory courses for up to 40 students. Refer to Technical Exhibit 3, Program Curriculum for course detail.Respond to student questions and concerns via emails, face-to-face, and online curriculum database.Update course materials assigned to teach to ensure information is timely and accurate. Specifically, the CSP is responsible for updating the course material to include current research, evidence-based practice recommendations and clinical practice. Course materials are defined as slide decks, reading materials, group activities, videos, and other media, etc. The field is consistently changing and evolving, and it is imperative at the material being taught within the course is relevant to the field, current, accurate (up-to-date research, etc.).Perform course administrative functions including offering up to 5 hours of office hours per week, maintaining student and course administrative records, organizing training materials, and attend faculty and staff meetings bi-monthly.Submit end of course student grades to the affiliate university.Submit SEL evaluation reports to program director. Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.Possess excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.Be capable of learning and utilizing current and emerging military and commercial technology.Be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and incorporated programs to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Access and be able to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software required for services being provided under each individual task order.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Nutrition Related field from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Education (DOE) and one of the six regional accrediting associations recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Middle States Commission on Higher (MSCHE), New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).At least three to five (3 - 5) years of graduate level teaching experience.Must be a Registered Dietitian.Background Checks: In accordance with HSPD-12, all DoD contractor employees must submit a National Agency Check plus Written Inquiries and Credit Check (NACI) background investigation (SF 85) to the MEDCoE Security Office (G2).
