Family Description

Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.

Subfamily Description

Software (SWA) comprises the definition, specification, and allocation of requirements from different sources utilising knowledge of systems engineering processes (specification & architecture). Contains processing of use case and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical requirements, and functional description. Covers specification, design, implementation, and unit testing of Software (e.g. device drivers, microcode, hardware-related software & firmware) according to the requirements and architecture defined in the systems engineering process. Covers establishment and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices into software development projects, continuously building and integrating infrastructure tools and systems.

 

Skills and Experience:
Having hands-on experience in wireless drivers, such as 802.11ac or 11ax
L2/L3 forwarding / routing protocols.
Knowledge in telecom products such as ONU/MDU/Router/Switch is preferred.
Being strong in C programming and data structures, and familiar with Linux kernel programming and device drivers 
At least 3-8 years relevant sw experience

Required SW skills:

Well understanding in embedded Linux OS;
Experienced in embedded software development, especially in real time multi-process development environment;
Versed in C/C++ and script languages;
Familiar with OO design and SW testing methodology;
Good skills in trouble shooting and debug in embedded development environment.
Effective communication skills,
Highly responsible & self-motivated.

xPON ONT system level sw development to make sure the delivery quality in line with customer’s requirement and quality target.

Analyze customer requirements, use cases, network topology, application and specific service requirement
Design feature documents including Feature Architecture, Feature Specification, Pre Light analysis.

Develop xPON ONT E2E environment. Understand requirements, develop feature request, interact with Product arch & PLMs & deliver features & bug fixes.

Follow Quality Process: Understand, Identify & deliver quality features for XPON ONTs

Cross Team interaction: Able to understand, identify requirements & interact across multiple teams – PLMs, Architects & Test engineers.
