Technical Lead - Database Analyst
Description Apply Now Open sharing options Save Saved Share Operationally support all aspects of databases including SQL and cloud-based environments to complete standard DBA responsibilities and provide thought leadership on how to automate, improve or do another way for all activities in the database. Performance tuning and working with our customers to optimize all interactions between our systems and their applications. Monitor database environments, identify existing or potential performance issues and effectively tune when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Perform Database Administrator functions with SQL Server.Pro-actively monitor the performance of development and production databases to detect existing or potential incidents and/or performance issues. Perform tuning and maintenance to correct and prevent unplanned downtime or performance degradation. Ensure operation of database environments meet or exceed agreed upon service levels (e.g. availability and performance).End to end responsibility of troubleshooting Database Performance issues, recommending and implementing the changes in lower environment and propagating to the production environment.Following standards, write, maintain, and document monitoring scripts needed in support of applications.Help in tuning the SQL queries for the Team.Gain thorough understanding of data requirements and business/client needs. Design, test, implement and maintain complex databases with the required organization, access methods, access time, validation checks and security to meet or exceed requirements. Ensure design and implementation meet architectural standards, company guidelines and client requirements. Develop, edit and maintain required documentation.Resolve the day-to-day incidents assigned to the team.


Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field; or equivalent work experience.Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including performance tuning and capacity planning.Proven expertise in database design, to include solid understanding of related programming languages, clustering, back-up/restore technologies, replication and security.7 to 10 years of Application DBA experience in SQL Server on preexisting and new projects, including design and implementation of physical databases based on logical data models.7+ years of experience with database design, administration and maintenance in distributed environment.7+ years of experience troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including performance tuning and capacity planning. .Experience in setting up the Resource Governor / Maintenance Plans and SQL Agent Jobs.Proven understanding of SQL coding required to understand performance implications and translate requirements to application developers.Experience in writing SQL Stored Procedures / Functions / Views etc.Proven understanding of SQL coding required to understand performance implications and translate requirements to application developers. Strong knowledge of MS SQL and tools like Spotlight.


Preferred Qualifications

Strong working knowledge of industry-standards database management and developmenttools.4+ years AWS, etc. (specific technology skill requirements will vary by role and domain).Demonstrated ability to work effectively in urgent situations with high pressure and visibility.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
