Technical Lead Engineer, Detection team

Department:

The Research and Development organization for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEMs) is committed to develop innovative technologies, modules and software that enable us to deliver world class TEM microscopes for our demanding markets and customers.

With the ongoing developments in physics and industry the performance requirements of these TEM microscopes are continuously growing. In close collaboration with the Advanced Technology Development group and several strategic collaboration partners, we are striving to define the most advanced concepts and turn them into real products, with the purpose to enable our customers to make the world cleaner, healthier and safer!

Team:

The Detection team is one of the Competence & Technology departments of TEM Solutions. The team consists of 20-25 enthusiastic engineers, specialized in detection– and imaging technology. Projects support the company product- and technology roadmaps in the domains of imaging and chemical mapping of specimens. Part of the team is based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and another part in Brno, Czech Republic. The job location is Eindhoven.

Position:

In the role of Technical Lead engineer you will work on advanced imaging technology for our high-tech electron-microscope modules or sub-systems. You will work closely together with a team of mechanical, electrical, software, mechatronics, dynamics, thermodynamics engineers, architects, project managers and multidisciplinary colleagues outside R&D like sourcing, operations, and service. The decisions made by yourself and your team will have direct business impact. Your challenge will be to find solutions for technological complex problems, meeting the needs of all different parties, combining short term goals with long term needs.

Ensure technical feasibility of proposed solutions, facilitate decision taking on technical issues together with the teamServe as the main technical contact for individuals in various fields and suppliers, providing mentorship on technical mattersCoordinate activities, set prioritiesLead and mentor the team, facilitate collaboration and team workEnsure the quality of work

Qualifications:

We encourage candidates with following qualifications to apply.

Master or PhD Degree in Physics, System Engineering or Electrical EngineeringAt least 3 years of proven experience in a similar role in the high-tech industry, preferably experience in the imaging domainSoftware programming skills (e.g. Python, Git, Linux, …)Taking initiative, self-steering, self-confident and perseveranceEagerness to learn and flexible when circumstances changeCombination of a strong analytical view with a pragmatic attitudeCommunicative and a great teammateAbility to switch between thinking on a high/conceptual and on detail levelsValue oriented and ability to set and act according to priorities at the same time
