Technical Manager

We’re looking for a Technical Manager to join our Liberty Tech team in London, UK

The Technology Manager will play a critical role in providing strategic support to the VP Technology Programs and the Chief Technical Officer. You will be responsible for adopting and integrating new technologies, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, and facilitating the development and execution of technology strategies and partnerships. You'll be responsible to enhance the organization's effectiveness and drive innovation. And act as a trusted partner to leadership teams, enabling alignment across business units while delivering impactful process redesign and operational improvements.

The focus areas for this role include:Business Transformation: Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies and deliver efficiency improvements across Liberty Tech.Value Creation: Ensure measurable outcomes for transformation initiatives at both organizational and operational levels.Stakeholder Engagement: Build credibility and foster alignment with Operating Companies (OpCos) and LG Tech leadership to secure commitment and drive results.Key Accountabilities

Technology Strategic Support:

Provide strategic guidance on adopting and integrating new technologies to align with organizational objectives.Support and drive decision-making with streamlined technical market analysis, combined with organizational knowledge of Liberty Global (including Opco, Growth portfolios etc.) to drive new revenue streams across the organizationAccountable to technically define the latest technology solutions that integrate with target units and ensure reliability, security & performance to meet or exceed customer expectationsLead or support the identification and execution of transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, including market research and trend analysis.Collaborate with the CTO and senior leaders to develop and execute technology strategies and partnerships.

Technology Program Management:

Manage and oversee new technology programs, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.Establish frameworks to quantify, monitor, and achieve value across transformation projects.Deliver tangible results at both macro and granular levels, aligning initiatives with business objectives.Provide detailed insights and reporting to track progress, impact, and alignment with defined metrics.

Stakeholder Engagement & OpCo Collaboration

Build and maintain strong relationships with OpCo leadership, fostering trust and credibility.Serve as a central coordinator between OpCos and the wider organization to align objectives and ensure seamless executionAddress OpCo-specific challenges with tailored, effective solutions.

Continuous Improvement & Change Enablement

Deliver strategic insights to stakeholders to support mid- to long-term technology planning.Conduct analysis, including sensitivity assessments, to underpin informed technology choices within the product and technology roadmap.Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to build internal capabilities and enhance processes.Lead change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems and processes.Effectively communicate the vision, goals, and benefits of transformation efforts to all stakeholders.

Knowledge & Experience

Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field.Experience in business transformation, process redesign, and operational optimization.Proven track record to deliver measurable outcomes in value creation and realization.Deep technical knowledge including new technologies, AI and back-end architectureFamiliarity with multi-entity structures, preferably within telecommunications or similar industries.Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on approach to execution.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspireAnalytical mindset with the ability to manage granular details while keeping sight of broader goals.Proven track record to work collaboratively across diverse teams and navigate organizational complexity.Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
