Technical Operation Manager
**Job Description** The Technical Operations Manager (TOM) serves as the single point of contact for all ship technical issues, this includes day to day service and troubleshooting, as well as proactive planning and budgeting for all technical matters in assigned ships. The Technical Operations Manager will also be responsible for compliance and regulation communication to shipside management. The TOM is the leader of the POD for the ships to which they hold responsibility. As leader of the POD, the TOM will need to be able to leverage and task other managers within the POD to execute Essential Functions, including but not limited to, the Assistant Technical Operations Manager, Electrical Manager, Hotel Superintendent, Safety Manager, and Environmental Manager. The TOM will be required to provide input to the evaluations of the same. **Essential Functions:** + Provide technical support and troubleshooting to ships by coordinating with other marine operations and internal and external stakeholders to provide service to assigned ships and coordinating with asset managers as required to troubleshoot ship technical issues + Lead the long-term technical operations planning. This includes the annual planning and budgeting process for assigned ships (while assuring stakeholder input and timely delivery to the Technical Operations Director) and dry-dock specifications, following overall vessel repair and maintenance requirements. + Monitor and update Infoship (software) to ensure safe operation and performance of ships + Serve as single point of contact for technical issues for assigned ships and communicate relevant technical updates, information and new regulations to appropriate shipside management + Execute activities connected with maintenance, repairs, surveys and certificate requirements, conversion, modification and dry dockings of vessels in a timely manner + Manage fleet technical operations budget for assigned ships and approve requisitions for spares, materials, services and consumables in line with the budget + Ensure implementation of the PMS onboard and work with various departments and teams to ensure completion + Responsible to ensure vessel compliance with Flag and Port State Authority, US Coast Guard, Classification Society, USPH rules and requirements. Manages pending Condition of Class (CoC), Statutory Deficiencies (SD), Actionable Items (AI), non-conformities or findings to ensure no overdue items occur. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree preferred + 7 - 10 years of experience in related field **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Solid knowledge of marine technical and regulatory compliance. + Sound budgeting skills to manage technical budget for assigned vessels. + Extensive working knowledge of marine technical systems. + Organizational skills to coordinate multiple ship activities simultaneously. + Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team based environment. + Good leadership and effective management skills. + Excellent communication and follow-up skills for frequent staff interactions Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time. Travel: 25% Ship-based Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft.
