Responsibilities About The Role: We are looking for a Principal Cloud Enterprise Architect, reporting to the Director – Enterprise Architecture, to work with the IT team, Product teams, as well as senior executives to drive the design of the AWS Cloud platform, and enterprise AWS Service offerings across GMF Financial. As an enterprise architect, you will be required to represent deep expertise on modernization and transformation of mission critical AWS applications facilitating AWS Adoption strategies. You will use your knowledge of cloud-native financial solutions, cloud application architecture and best practices, hybrid cloud architecture, API management, microservices, security, data modernization and cloud integration technologies to advise and drive elegant, reference architecture patterns and shared service capabilities. The ideal candidate will champion new reference architecture patterns in both internal facing and external facing forums and will drive teams and decisions towards that end state, using principles and guidelines. We are seeking a candidate who has great breadth and depth of experience when it comes to the AWS cloud landscape and will have the ability to evangelize and present as various forums and conferences. Serve as an enterprise architecture strategic expert in defining designs for enterprise capabilities that demonstrate industry leading best practices that support GMF Financial product owner business and technology objectives. Define strategy with respect to AWS enterprise related standards and design goals; provide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical and physical, and process views across multiple business domains. Responsible for providing technology leadership and oversight of the AWS platform design. Liaise with other teams including, but not limited to Business (LOBs), Cloud Platform Services, Security, IT Delivery, Solutions Architects, Data Architects, Domain Architects, Risk, Operations, Corporate Function etc. for coordination on programs and projects. Facilitate organizational change by defining strategies for AWS Cloud capabilities with respect to technology standards, industry models and design goals; evaluate business requirements in the early stages of projects to determine integration technologies, system architectures and patterns should be employed to meet business objectives efficiently; participate in the development of roadmaps, which include Cloud platform capabilities, AWS service Roadmap and Patterns, and AWS Platform Architecture Readiness. Identify and advise product and engineering teams on emerging technology solutions in the AWS Cloud environment that reduce costs, increase efficiencies, provide more value, capabilities, reduce risks and increase security. Collaborate with project teams to lead solution design, project proposals, proof-of-concepts, and delivery of the solution implementation including integration with both internal and external applications Communicate best practices by giving presentations, working with project teams, and authoring content aimed at educating others about standards, strategies, and otherwise defined best practices Play a lead role in shaping and participating in GM Financials Global Architecture Council (GAC).
