About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Product Manager to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) group within the Application Lifecycle Team. This role ensures that applications are seamlessly integrated, managed, and decommissioned within our Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) tool. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a foundational understanding of IAM principles.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Leads technical product management activities for multiple technical products, or one strategic technical product. Participates in the design and continuous improvement of the technical solution.
2. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to create best practices that drive significant change to the client experience.
3. Coaches technical product teams towards best practices and learnings. Ensures delivery of messaging, communication, and customer outreach as necessary.
4. Partners with stakeholders to resolve production and implementation issues in a timely manner, and supports/drives escalations where required to enable rapid delivery.
5. Leads the planning, development and implementation of new technical products. Defines and analyzes technical markets, developing detailed product features and requirements, and developing implementation plans.
6. Employs a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve the user experience.
7. Participates in and provides recommendations for ongoing business planning and departmental prioritization activities.
8. Participates in the team’s engineering practices in development, continuous integration, and automated deployment.
9. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Key Workstreams/Roles:
Application Onboarding:
Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to define requirements for integrating new applications into the IGA tool suite.
Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful onboarding of applications, including configuring access policies, workflows, and governance controls.
Conduct testing and validation to ensure compliance with organizational security policies and standards.
Lifecycle Management:
Maintain accurate application inventories and oversee the health of integrated applications within the IGA tool suite.
Monitor and address issues related to access management, permissions, and governance across the application’s lifecycle.
Act as the primary liaison between the application teams, engineering, and IAM teams to address any technical or policy-related challenges.
Application Decommissioning:
Develop and execute plans for decommissioning applications from the IGA tool suite, ensuring a smooth and secure transition.
Identify and remediate orphaned accounts, stale permissions, and residual dependencies during the decommissioning process.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as the point of contact for application owners, business units, and IAM teams for lifecycle-related activities.
Communicate timelines, deliverables, and progress to all relevant stakeholders.
Gather feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the user experience for IAM processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Analyze trends, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to onboarding, maintenance, and decommissioning processes.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in Identity and Access Management.
Partner with engineering teams to enhance automation capabilities within the IGA tool suite.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred. Minimum of five years related work experience.
Two years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational projects preferred.
5+ years of experience in technical product management, Identity and Access Management, or a related field.
Familiarity with IAM tools, including SailPoint and Okta.
Understanding of IAM concepts like role-based access control (RBAC), least privilege, and segregation of duties (SoD) preferred.
Hands-on experience with APIs, workflows, and application integration.
Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA) and their impact on IAM processes preferred.
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
