Technical Program Manager

GDIT is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support the National Institute of Health (NIH) National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) program.  In this role you will manage a large and complex program with multiple technical teams spanning a wide range of IT support and technologies.

Work Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

HOW A TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Provide leadership in overseeing comprehensive technology and service deliveryProvide strategic planning, operational planning, and service portfolio development and implementation to service delivery technical managersProvide oversight of all technical and operational aspects of the programDevelop and lead cross-functional teams, including promoting team cohesion and collaborationInject enterprise innovation through strategic thinking around technology and operationsDevelop and maintain strong client relationships (trusted advisor) with transparent communicationsEnsure program performance to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectivesServe as a people manager in coaching, mentoring, motivating, and supervising direct reports

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Education:  BS/BA (or equivalent)

Required Experience:  Minimum of 10 years of related experience

Required Technical Skills:

Minimum of eight years of experience managing large IT Operations and Maintenance contractsProficiency in multiple technical disciplines, including DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud services, IT infrastructure, cyber security, networking, data management, storage, and XaaSExperience managing programmatic risks for large service delivery and infrastructure projects including, dependencies, and issues to ensure timely resolutionExperience managing technical projects, using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologiesExperience working in a metrics-driven environment (e.g., SLA, OLA)Experience developing and delivering complex IT services across a diverse portfolio (e.g., cybersecurity, networking, cloud, engineering, scientific computing)Experience developing solutions in a regulated federal environment (e.g., FISMA, FedRamp) and compliance requirements (e.g., EPLC)

Security Clearance:  Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust

Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate complex technical topics and concepts to executive leadership and technical staffKnowledge of IT best practices and standards

Preferred Skills:

Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Lean IT, PMP, Scrum Master)

Location:   Hybrid; must be able to attend weekly meetings at the client site in Rockville, MD and as required to meet contract obligations.
