The opportunity: 

The Manager of Technical Project Management is responsible for managing and leading a hub based Project Management team responsible for managing the new items process and artwork preparation for Smurfit Westrock’s flexographic and Digital preprint production facilities. In addition, the Manager of Technical Project Management will assist in business growth and development with a focus on continuous process improvement through advancements in technology, innovation and automation.  

How you will impact WestRock:

Lead, manage, coach and direct Project Managers working through the new items process, which includes: Pricing, Web Layout creation, Customer Approvals, Scheduling, Billing, etc. Scheduling work to ensure internal / external customer needs are metInteracts daily with Project Managers, Sales Team, Customer Service, Smurfit Westrock Production facilities, Prepress teams and ManagementDrive collaboration with Team members and Management to develop creative corrective actions / solutions to customer issues or gaps in process to improve quality and accelerate speed to marketAssist / help prioritize the demands of the customer with the abilities of the production sites for focused results  Solicit, organize, and communicate customer feedback, relative to team performanceVisit preprint production facilities to enhance ongoing business relationshipsUnderstand graphic requirements through the use of Customer / Press Specification LibraryEvaluate and verify employee performanceEnsure staffing needs / requirements are metEstablish goals, track resultsPrepare and submit reports as requiredPerform audits of work instruction proceduresResponsible for continuous education in the areas of new technology, new processes, and personal growthMaintain knowledge of current industry trends and developmentsSupport the WestRock CulturePerform other duties as assigned and assist anywhere neededtools and equipment

What you need to succeed:

Experience in Management RequiredAdobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office and Mac Experience RequiredExperience in Preflighting of Graphic Files for Plate Production RequiredBachelor’s Degree PreferredExperience with Flexographic Printing and Plates PreferredKnowledge of Prepress Capabilities PreferredStrong written & oral communication skills Problem solving and analytical skillsExcellent time management skills - ability to be proactive and acknowledge priorityAbility to resolve conflicts and develop teamworkAbility to work independently… Self Starter
