Job Description Summary:

The Technical Project Manager II holds a key role in overseeing the successful implementation of SaaS solutions, managing internal programming, and coordinating production deployment of applications and integrations. This position involves providing guidance to the Consulting Team engaged in customer-facing projects.

The Technical Project Manager II role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities to ensure successful project outcomes while coordinating with various teams and stakeholders within the organization.

We are seeking a proficient Technical Project Manager II to manage multiple software implementations for our customers. This role requires prior experience in software implementation project management (preferably SaaS) and a demonstrated ability to handle the full life cycle of such projects. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this position collaborates with Implementation Consultants, Data Migration Engineers, and Developers to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.

The successful candidate will not only oversee projects through initiation, design, development, user acceptance testing, go-live, and transition to support but also manage complex projects and provide aggregated insights to the business.

Responsibilities:

Project InitiationReview Sales Order and Customer Success Record for accuracyConduct Sales to Consulting hand-off and client-facing kick off meetingsScope ManagementDefine project scope, objectives, and deliverablesConduct in-depth project scope analysis and address gaps proactivelyIdentify strategic opportunities that will add value to the implementation process and to the client's operational needs.Project PlanningCreate and maintain granular project schedulesTracks resource allocation based on available bandwidth and level of effortTeam LeadershipLead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams effectivelyEnsure team readiness and identify any training needs that need to be addressedChange ManagementManage scope changes and implement effective change management processesEvaluates Change impact (what-if analysis) for projects and drives decision making based on most optimal projectionsBudget ManagementDevelop and manage project budgetsReview and distribute Time and Materials ReportsCommunicate and able to identify when budget may be exceeded and recommend solutions to stay in budgetResource ManagementProvide direction and support to the Project TeamPrioritize Project tasks and conduct planning sessions with the Project TeamCommunication ManagementFacilitate and lead weekly status update meetings and capture meeting notes in real-timeProvide status reports focusing on budget, scope, and timelineLeverage our Professional Services Automation (PSA) solution as a portal to communicate Project information to our clientsRisk and Issue ManagementProficiency in identifying, analyzing, mitigating project risks, and solving issuesApply risk mitigation strategies, including risk avoidance, risk transfer, and contingency planning for projectsLead the analysis and diagnosis to solve unique/complex technical and project issuesQuality ManagementExtensive experience in ensuring the quality of project deliverables through testing and review processesManage Test Case assignments, issue logs, and issue resolution in TestRailStakeholder ManagementManage Stakeholder and Customer expectationsStrategic PlanningAlign project objectives with organizational goals and strategiesProgram ManagementManage small group of related projects in a coordinated manner to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them individually.Travel up to 10% (domestic and international) annually

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience in managing SaaS projects is requiredStrong multitasking ability to handle concurrent IT projectsEffective leadership of multi-disciplinary client teams with minimal supervisionStrong organizational and communication skillsOrganized critical thinkerMeticulous about documentation and record-keepingAdvanced user of MS Project and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit college or university.A track record of commitment to prior employers. PMP certification or equivalent preferred5+ years of technical project management experience in customer-facing rolesExperience managing enterprise-scale SaaS implementationsStrong multitasking ability to handle concurrent IT projectsEffective leadership of multi-disciplinary client teams with minimal supervisionStrong organizational and communication skillsOrganized critical thinkerMeticulous about documentation and record-keepingAdvanced user of MS Project and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
