Technical Project Manager - Marine

Job Description

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for ensuring both effective and efficient execution of the project in such a way that the QHSE, technical, commercial, and contractual requirements are met. Leads a project team to achieve an optimal balance between cost, time, and quality and between cost, benefit, and risk on projects of complexity up to (and including) 5, applying intensive and diversified knowledge of professional principles and practices. Stimulates effective decision-making. Mentors and supports more junior members of the team and works collaboratively across multiple service lines and business units. Supports and advises the proposal management process. 

Job Responsibilities 

Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.Ensures all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the QHSSE.  Responsible for the project's compliance with Fugro's policies and procedures.Responsible for understanding the project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables. Identifies and manages internal and external stakeholders. Consult with internal subject matter experts to ensure best practices are implemented. Creates and manages project documentation including Project Execution Plan, Risk Assessment, and MoC. Provides accurate and timely reporting on project metrics including financial and QHSSE. Provides mentorship to personnel provides technical advice and resolves problems. Ensures proper project close-out including client review meeting and final financial settlement. Contributes to the Commercial process before project award as required. Manages project expenditures and the procurement of equipment and materials.Prioritizes, delegates & manages time and workflow effectively. Systematically, anticipates and mitigates problems; understands a decision’s business implications. Assists Business Development team with client maintenance and development of new clients. Performs other duties or completes special projects as assigned. 


Job Requirements    

Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions. Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record. Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.Possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.  Have 5 years or more of survey-related experience required. Have experience in commercial and contractual concepts.Have 6 years or more of experience in offshore I&M & Construction Support Project Management preferred. Ability to read and interpret survey maps, charts, technical drawings, and diagrams. Ability to define problems, collect oral and written input, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Experienced with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Capable of navigating accounting software. Exposure to MS Projects, AutoCAD/ArcGIS, and similar programs an asset. Basic knowledge of land surveying methods and practices. 

Certificates and Licenses 

TWIC or ability to obtain PEC and BOSIET water survival course or ability to obtain Current OGUK physical to allow work offshore or ability to obtain  PMP (or other globally recognized Project Management certification), or the ability to obtain
