What does the role look like?

In this role, the Tech Pubs Engineer actively participate in a team environment, reporting to the Tech Pubs Engineering Manager and working with Technical Publications Lead, Product Support Engineers, MRO engineers and Operations for the creation and update of various Technical Maintenance documentation (Tech Pubs) as per the current aerospace quality standards (such as ATA and S1000D).

This role requires a deep understanding of Aerospace Authoring/Illustrations Standards, Authoring tools and S1000D database tools, along with good reading and understanding of the engineering data set and technical documents.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

Writing (New issue/Revision) of Component Maintenance Manuals/other technical publication documents for Aircraft Components and Systems of Civil and Military applications (mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems products).Daily use of authoring tools and softwares such as Adobe Framemaker, Arbortext Epic Editor and Common Source Database (CSDB).liaising with the other engineering functions to collect all the relevant technical data to write, update and release all the maintenance technical data which Engineering is responsible for.Deal with technical aspects to timely response to customer and airlines queries.

What will you bring to the role?

2 -3 years of experience in Authoring/Illustration of Component Maintenance Manuals/other technical publication documents, preferably in Aerospace or Mechanical industries.Knowledge of Technical Publications Aerospace Standards ATA100, ispec 2200, S1000D and any S1000D tools with database.Basic Knowledge of illustration tools (Isodraw), 3DVIA and CATIA will be an added advantage.Familiarity with XML, SGML, and resolving the XML parsing errors.Basic knowledge on Simplified English standard ASD-STE.Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and change drivers (Service Bulletin, Service Newsletter, ECN, TR, SIL, ATP etc.).Experience in writing Assembly, Disassembly & Repair procedures.Basic knowledge on PLM tools like Teamcenter.Willingness to work in tight schedules, while still not neglecting the value of attention to details and subsequently delivering high quality work.Ability to communicate effectively with internal /external customers.Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.Good use of Microsoft Office Package.Fluent Italian and English (written and oral).Availability to short travels between Italian sites and abroad.

Desirable skills :  

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringKnowledge of basic principles applied in the Aerospace industryBasic knowledge of Aerospace Systems architecture and functionalityBasic understanding of Engineering principles and calculationsBasic understanding of Aerospace product development processesBasic knowledge on Aerospace authoring and illustration standardsGood knowledge on authoring tools like Adobe Framemaker, Arbortext with StylerBasic knowledge on any illustration/graphic toolsKnowledge of the airworthiness regulations in civil and military aerospace (EASA, EMAR)Basic knowledge of SAP and Project Scheduling ToolsGood written and verbal communication skills at all levelsTeam player, demonstrating positive and collaborative attitude
