Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Transform complex concepts and procedures related to Corning’s telecommunications products into clear and engaging illustrations which you will place and format, along with accompanying text, into Adobe InDesign to create standard recommended procedures
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers, product line managers, and other subject matter experts to understand Corning products and related complex technical concepts and procedures Create visually engaging and realistic 3D product renderings which are technically accurate and consistent with our illustration style guide while also complying with company, customer, and industry standards Transform product installation processes and procedures into clear and concise visual representations; provide feedback on written content to ensure accuracy and alignment with visual representations Provide document reviews, and implement feedback while adhering to agree upon deadlines Oversee projects outsourced to our creative agency, managing the review process and ensuring documents are technically accurate, consistent, and in accordance with company, customer, and industry standards Maintain our SRP art library (Portfolio) by uploading new images, and allocating new drawing numbers and metadata Demonstrate project leadership ability by overseeing complex projects with minimal supervision
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent job experience
At least 5 years’ experience
Experience with Luxion Keyshot to light and render realistic imagery
Experience with Maya, 3D model creation and editing
Understanding of orthographic and perspective drawings
Advanced level of experience with creating and manipulating imagery in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience with Adobe InDesign
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Desired Experience
Knowledge of Adobe Premier and After Effects Knowledge of visual effects workflows and pipelines Knowledge of product design Knowledge of PolyTrans for Maya plug-in converter system

The range for this position is $79,290.00 - $109,024.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
