Technical Release Manager (EDW)

This position is responsible for managing a matrixed team that analyzes requirements, designs, develops, tests, and implements major data releases and initiatives, coordinating across technologies, and as appropriate, manages relationships between the Information Management and Analytics Department and internal/external client organizations. Position includes management of department/project budgets, workload balancing and developing strategies and processes, and understanding the technical components of a variety of data repositories, and leading process improvement projects.

 

MUST HAVE:

·          Bachelors Degree with 4 years data warehouse experience OR 8 years data warehouse experience 

·         Experience with the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and EDW project implementation and management  (MUST have a background in a Data Warehouse environment)

·         Previous experience as a project manager/in project management functions

·         Ability to develop and manage major releases to data warehouses and/or data marts 

·         Ability to manage program management teams 

·         Ability to develop, coordinate and maintain project and departmental budgets and cost/expense information 

·         Ability to build strong working relationships with business and technical colleagues at varying levels of information-based solution understanding. 

·         Ability to build successful team environment 

·         Ability to assess impact of planned implementations on production environment 

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, including charts and graphs 

·         Organizational and time management skills, with ability to work under pressure and to adhere to deadlines 

·         Proven technical, analytical and troubleshooting and problem solving ability.

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills

 

NICE TO HAVE:

·         Bachelors Degree in related field is preferred. 

·         A broad understanding of the health care industry and its related processes is beneficial, however, similar experience in other business fields will also be considered favorably. 

·         Data integration experience 

·         PMP certification   

·         SDM training for Project Management OR system development life cycle methodology experience 

·         Strong collaboration skills 

·         Self-motivated, with little or no supervision required 

·         Knowledge of BCBS operations 

·         Understanding of Cognos, Teradata, and IBM DataStage toolsets/product lines
