Position Description:
Excelsior Inc., part of the Ryerson family of companies, has an opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer. This is a full-time position. As a Technical Sales Engineer you are responsible to support New Business activities, from initial inquiry, feasibility, specification development, quoting, and trial phase, through first articles and initial orders. This role requires frequent communication with customer technical and commercial teams and will be required to develop a thorough understanding of our manufacturing and programming capabilities. This position will also be instrumental in developing and maintaining manufacturing specifications and capabilities. Basic competency in materials is required.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The primary role is to support new business activities, from inquiry and feasibility through quoting, trials and initial orders. This includes frequent communication with customers, technical and commercial teams and through understanding of our manufacturing and programming capabilities. The role also involves developing and maintaining manufacturing specifications, with a basic competency in materials required.
• Collaborate with customers and account managers to understand technical and commercial requirements
• Provide technical leadership, time management, and documentation for successful product commercialization
• Integrate technical manuals and documentation into company capabilities
• Assess feasibility, estimate materials and work with internal/external resources to optimize customer solutions
• Develop cost models and quotations with the sales team
• Manage initial Customer projects through planning, design, scheduling, ordering and implementation
• Track project schedules and budgets, updating management and customers as needed
