If you are a Technical HVAC professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland in Sidney, OH has an exciting opportunity for you. This position will focus on our largest and key strategic OEM customer.

AS A TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER, YOU WILL...

Be responsible for all technical elements of our sales engagements with our OEM, with an emphasis on compression, new technologies, system controls, variable speed drives and regulatory changes.

The primary responsibility will be interfacing with customers on a technical level, to understand and guide the customer to an acceptable solution.

In addition, they will need to maintain liaisons with product engineers, review progress and evaluate results, and make changes in designs or equipment for customers and operations when necessary.

Provide pre and post - sale technical support: understand the customer's system, select products, provide product technical data, provide design support, support set-up and operation of prototypes, perform application review and provide technical product overviews and training.

Provide post-sale technical support: production line process reviews, tear down reports, trouble shoot application issues with Copeland products, review customer test data against application review, and provide technical test data as needed.

Participate in New Product Development (NPD): Provide application/systems engineering recommendations to satisfy NPD gate tasks, represent the voice of the customers, determine field test requirements, support field test and review field test data.

Assist in creating the Application Bulletins and associated training documents.

Review OEM system testing (Vendor assessment) and validate Customer Purchased Parts Specifications (COPPS) that use our existing and future innovative technologies

Support customer events and industry tradeshows with selection and setup of product displays, promotion of Copeland technologies, answering technical inquiries, and networking with key contacts

Review OEM system manufacturing processes to make sure our products are handled and tested properly to minimize line rejections.

Assist in troubleshooting systems failures or complainants from end-users in the field.

Work cross functionally with other internal groups such as product engineering, labs, marketing, product managers and sales.

Clearly and accurately communicate, both written and verbally at all levels of the organization and with the customer.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

B.S. in an Engineering background or related field plus (+) Five (5) years of related experience.

Knowledge of HVACR Systems and current EPA regulations.

Excellent Customer communications skills with experience working directly with OEM customers on new product design and development.

Customer-focused and Service-oriented.

Strives for continuous personal development and improvement.

Portrays a professional image to the customer and teams.

Ability to travel 20-25%.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

B.S. in an Engineering background plus (+) Ten (10) years of related experience.

Direct knowledge and experience of specific HVAC systems such as Residential and Commercial Splits, Chillers, Rooftops, and DOAS.

Modulating compression technology and variable speed drives knowledge as applied at the equipment /system level.

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (EST). Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers. Work from home opportunity available after fully trained and agreed to with the hiring manager.
