Position Summary

We are seeking a driven and technically skilled Technical Sales Manager to generate new business and grow key accounts in the medical device industry. This role focuses on technical selling, relationship building, and exceeding sales objectives through account penetration, strategic planning, and proactive communication. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in fluoropolymer extrusions and micro-diameter tubing applications, as well as a strong understanding of their role in diagnostic and interventional devices.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Sales Performance:
o    Achieve revenue and profit targets by driving customer sales initiatives across a portfolio of fluoropolymer extrusions and micro-diameter tubing.
o    Develop and execute strategic sales plans in collaboration with TSEs (Technical Sales Engineers), CAMs (Customer Account Managers), and Marketing.
•    Customer Relationships:
o    Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with senior-level decision-makers within key accounts.
o    Conduct customer business reviews and serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams.
•    Technical Expertise:
o    Leverage deep technical knowledge of extrusion applications in medical devices to support customers’ product development efforts.
o    Partner with R&D teams to troubleshoot challenges and streamline the commercialization process for customer projects.
•    Market and Business Insight:
o    Identify new sales opportunities and channel insights into the Jaffrey and Trenton plants to improve capabilities.
o    Stay informed about customer activities, market trends, and competitor actions to inform strategy and growth.
•    Internal Collaboration and Reporting:
o    Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Development, QA/RA, Operations) to define and deliver customer-centric solutions.
o    Provide regular updates on sales performance, forecasts, and market insights to management.
•    Training and Leadership:
o    Conduct sales and capability training for internal teams, focusing on the product portfolio and market applications.


•    Contract Management and Negotiation:
o    Facilitate OEM contract negotiations, including terms, conditions, volumes, and pricing.
•    Operational Excellence:
o    Monitor and assess territory performance, taking corrective actions to improve results.
o    Participate in budget planning, sales forecasting, and operating plan activities.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

Required:
o    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
o    Minimum of 5 years of experience in selling extrusions and/or catheter-related products.
o    Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives in a technical or OEM-focused company.
Preferred:
o    Experience with fluoropolymer extrusions, micro-diameter tubing, and their applications in diagnostic and interventional devices.
o    Familiarity with the catheter-related products used in Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Neurology, Urology, Peripheral Vascular interventions. 
o    Knowledge of the medical device industry, especially in OEM product development

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $150,000 to $190,000 (inclusive of commissions) however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  Commissions will also vary depending on individual performance.  The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
