Job Title: Technical Sales RepresentativeJob Description We are seeking a strong Technical Sales Representative who will take the time to understand the nutritional value of our product and effectively sell it to product developers at client companies. The ideal candidate will prospect independently, attend IFT and networking events to generate leads, and also utilize leads generated from our website. Initially, there will be no specific metrics to meet as the focus will be on learning the product and converting leads into meetings. Responsibilities + Develop a thorough understanding of product offerings + Drive sales through target and key accounts + Build relationships with customers to position company’s ingredients to serve nutritional, sustainability, and formulation needs of customers in food markets + Manage the entire customer acquisition pipeline from lead qualification through to purchase orders and customer satisfaction/retention + Meet sales and margin targets, including negotiating key terms of customer agreements such as pricing, volume commitments, and other terms + Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, supply chain, marketing, and customer care to ensure customer satisfaction + Work closely with Marketing and R&D to bring new product ideas and concepts from and to the market + Play the leading role in resolving important customer issues + Provide voice of the customer insight to the entire organization Essential Skills + Background in food science + Experience in sales and product development processes + Business development experience + 2-3 years of ingredient sales experience with a technical focus Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience as a strong product developer in the lab working with clients and seeking to transition into sales Work Environment The candidate will report directly to the VP of Sales, who has extensive industry knowledge and is eager to mentor the team. The company is a smaller, steadily growing entity. The work environment includes in-office work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with in-person meetings encouraged. The team approach involves collaboration with members from Marketing and the Lab. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $56.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
