Client-focused and committed to delivering high-quality services, ALS Torrance is now seeking a self-driven, scientifically minded sales professional to help propel our strategic business development efforts. **Responsibilities** **About the role** As a Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving the growth of ALS Torrance by identifying, targeting, and acquiring new clients in the scientific services sector. You will be responsible for increasing brand awareness and supporting ALS’s goal of becoming the GMP contract laboratory of choice for pharmaceutical companies on the West Coast. This is a proactive, hands-on sales role where you will utilize your commercial acumen to deliver measurable business results. Key Responsibilities: + Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new clients and business opportunities within the scientific services sector. + Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and initial contact to closing deals, ensuring smooth transitions and client satisfaction. + Lead Generation: Focus on creating and nurturing a robust sales pipeline by actively sourcing new leads, building relationships, and securing long-term business. + Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, providing ongoing support and promoting repeat business. + Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including technical, laboratory, and account departments, to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. + Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends and customer needs to continuously adapt sales strategies and service offerings. This is a dynamic, proactive role suited for a driven sales professional in the scientific sector, with a strong focus on new client acquisition and business development. **Qualifications** **About You** We are looking for a motivated and ambitious sales professional who is eager to develop their skills in the scientific services sector. You may not yet have deep industry experience, but you bring a strong drive, a passion for sales, and a proactive "hunter" mentality. You are enthusiastic, quick to learn, and excited to contribute to business growth while working alongside experienced teams. To excel in this position, you should have: + A relevant educational background, preferably in Life Sciences or a related field, with a strong desire to pursue a career in sales. + 3+ years of experience in sales, ideally within a technical or scientific services environment, though other sales experience will also be considered. + A strong willingness to learn, grow, and take initiative in driving sales and business development. + Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and engage with clients. + Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. + Experience using CRM software (Salesforce or similar) is a plus, but not required. + A dynamic, positive attitude and a genuine interest in contributing to the success of the business. + The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on achieving goals and delivering results. + An analytical mindset and capacity to learn about scientific services Desired Experience: + While industry knowledge is not required, any exposure to laboratory services, contract testing, or the pharmaceutical sector would be an advantage. + Previous experience in sales, even if in a different field, is highly valued This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled person looking to develop their career in an international company. **Working at ALS** Our people are our most valuable asset and drive our success at ALS. Our benefits include: + A base salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 plus commission, at the time of posting.
