Technical Service Lab Technician

Technical Service Lab Technician** We are seeking a professional like you to work as part of our technical service lab team in our Oilfield Chemicals business unit in Houston, Texas. **Come create chemistry with us!** As a Lab Technician, you will perform application testing in our technical service laboratory supporting the global technology team to identify the right BASF chemistry for customer specific needs. The position will primarily support global technology and development projects in the areas of production and stimulation applications. The Laboratory Technician will report to the Technical Service Manager as part of the global technology team. The highly self-paced and motivated person will provide hands-on laboratory support to solve customer problems and generate innovative technical solutions. _**Role will be filled commensurate with experience._ **As a Technical Service Lab Technician, you create chemistry by...** + Working in a team environment across multiple disciplines and cultures. Incorporating safe work procedures in all aspects of the job while maintaining a safe work environment in the laboratory (e.g., drafting procedures for running and maintaining equipment per HSE standards). + Having a solid working knowledge of oilfield laboratory techniques for performing application testing (e.g., demulsification bottle testing, phase separation, rheology measurements, core flood testing, corrosion testing, friction reduction, surface tension, etc.). + Supporting the business by doing formulation work, generating/planning test matrix, conducting tests, analyzing and interpreting data, providing conclusions and recommendations. + Assisting in building, installing, and maintaining specialized equipment designated for oilfield applications (e.g., Swagelok tubing and fittings, ISCO pumps, fluid accumulators, pressure vessels, relief devices, vacuum pumps, etc.). + Collaborating with teammates and participating in project meetings.
