Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill Technical Service Technician positions to be a part of a team with extended troubleshooting capabilities for Brightline’s Venture Trainset fleet. This consists of Tier 4 compliant high-horsepower locomotives in a push-pull configuration with elegant coaches to deliver a high-end customer experience. These trains operate today from Orlando to Miami and are running up to 125 mph.  These positions will be 3rd shift in Orlando, FL.

As part of the team, you will need to have strong technical troubleshooting capabilities (Electrical/Mechanical) to meet the needs of a demanding customer schedule. We incorporate safety as it is the highest priority in all activities, processes, and operations. Embedded in a diverse team you will bring an attitude of continuous improvement and analytical thinking. Are you ready to roll?!

You will coordinate troubleshooting activities, to improve fleet performance, and identify technical improvements to increase the reliability of the Trainsets. We foster exchange between the team members to increase the technical understanding of the subsystems and the use of data that the train is communicating to the landside. You will determine the first steps for fault rectification before the train comes in for service and inspection. We're looking for an ambitious and can-do attitude to ensure the team is selecting and implementing the best solutions to sophisticated problems that can occur in a long-term maintenance environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Technical troubleshooting using diagnostic software, supplier documentation and engineering support. Exchange on technical problems with co-workers, other projects and Siemens Rolling Stock Analyze fault trends. Develop action plans; measure and analyze results; initiate corrective actions; minimize variances' impact; continuously improve processes. Root cause analysis using industry standard methodologies.

To thrive in this role, you have:

An Associate’s degree in a technical field of study or a minimum of 4 years of technical experience.Good trouble shooting capabilities.Familiar with using Cormap or similar maintenance management systems.Strong electrical background including understanding of electrical schematics.Experience in using diagnostic software.Reading circuit diagrams, software description, use of maintenance documentation, writing comprehensive technical reports, root cause analysis.Strong interpersonal skills and a dynamic personality are needed to optimally collaborate with people at all levels within the organization and customer.A collaborative working style.Ability to continually challenge the status quo, taking on complex technical challenges for continuous improvement of results and efficiency.Setting you apart from others would be an expert level in analyzing diagnosis data using Railigent and Spotfire along with experience in dealing with the FRA / CFRs, knowledge of applicable law and regulations.  Deep technical understanding of Diesel electric locomotives and passenger coaches would be great but also experience with diesel engines is a plus.
