Reporting to the Technical Director, the Technical Services Manager has experience in concrete construction with relevant experience in areas such as construction waterproofing, estimating, construction project management or supervision, concrete repair, ICRI, concrete durability and service life, concrete technology, and admixtures.
The successful candidate will provide engineering and technical support for concrete waterproofing, protection, and repair projects and applications to the client's personnel and customers.
Responsibilities:
Project Technical Support:
Project-specific inquiries related to engineering and technical matters, product information, and applications from:Engineers, architects, contractors, other customers,Company's sales staff including regional managers, distributors, and affiliatesProject submissions:Detailed submissions for key projectsProject testing support, e.g. trial batching, mock-ups, etcTroubleshooting problems, reports of failures, etcKey project site visitsTechnical Documents and Sales Materials:
Development of technical documents such as technical presentations, product data sheets, technical notes, and technical content for marketingReview independent test reportsTechnical Sales Support:
Attend conferences, and trade shows, represent Xypex on industry committeesKey project site visitsTechnical Training:
Technical strategy webinarsTechnical document distribution and trainingHands-on training demonstrationsResearch & Development Support:
Assist with product testing and trialsAssist with new product concept developmentAssistance with test programs and data reviewTravel:
Some US/Canada and International travel – typically 2-5 times per yearQualifications:
Valuable areas of experience include one or more of the following fields:construction: general contracting, concrete repair, construction waterproofing, project management, construction estimatingmanufacturing: concrete admixtures, construction productsconsulting and testing: concrete durability and service-life design testing, analysis and design, concrete technology5+ years of technical experience in concrete construction-related fieldEnglish (other languages are an asset)Civil or other engineering or science degree, diploma, or sufficient related industry experienceUnderstanding of concrete technology and construction practiceExcellent oral and written communication skills (important)Good technical writing skillsGood presentation skills
Salary: $120k to $150k based on qualifications, plus bonus and benefits.
