The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

The DARPA Support Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

 

We have an immediate need for a Technical SETA to provide full-time onsite support out of Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Technical SETA with expert knowledge in Solid Rocket Motors to support DARPA.  As a key member of our dynamic team, you will provide valuable insight in solid rocket motor propulsion systems.  The candidate will have an understanding of the physics of propulsion and should have the ability to build a system from the ground up. You will assist with safety and qualification processes of propulsion systems. Proactively engage with PEOs and help forge early-program transition paths. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of solid rocket motor designs with overall program objectives.

Qualifications

Required:

BS degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldActive DoD Secret clearance 5+ years of experience with the design and analysis of rocket propulsion systemsExperience in the design and fabrication of solid rocket motor technologyDemonstrated experience in supporting the transition of R&D technology to the servicesAbility to communicate effectively and possess excellent oral and writing skillsSelf-starter and capable of working both independently and as part of a teamProficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPointAble to work fully onsite in Arlington, VA based on client needs
