Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Brownstown Battery Facility on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The Technical Shift Leader will supervise a small to medium group of employees (salaried and potentially hourly employees). This position will lead the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities. Work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedure. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). This position will primarily be on day shift for the foreseeable future.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Conduct appropriate checks and tests and communicate evaluation of results
Preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, recommends solutions to problems, and meets schedule and quality requirements
Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements
Implements divisional and corporate policies
Implements safety and good housekeeping practices
Frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group
Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
Participates in the selection of new employees
Trains, develops and evaluates employees
Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
Leads technical guidance for complex and unusual plant operations or projects
Assists in the development of budgets and forecasts within assigned area
Obtains a deep knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
Create and oversee operational plan for routine activities, which involve analyzing data and resolving issues within their area of responsibility
Utilize judgment to develop programs, plans, and strategies that align with annual objectives
Use data and analysis to demonstrate the value of a project, anticipating, and addressing objections and or concerns
Effectively communicate and present recommendations and results across several job areas
Planning and scheduling predictive, preventative, reactive and opportunistic maintenance activities
Support PFMEA, TPM and TIP processes within the plant
Support and implement 100% GMS Compliance, in a BIQ4 facility
Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
4 years of experience in maintenance or engineering field
Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed
Strong knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems (Robotics, Electricity and PLCs, Servos, Mechanical Drives or Tooling)
Working knowledge of process equipment operations, sequence, error proofing and diagnostic capabilities
Ability to multitask and work with others in a highly flexible environment
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
4+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering field
4-year technical degree (BSME, BSEE) or equivalent experience
Leadership experience
Process engineering experience
Knowledge of Test Systems (Bauer)
Execution experience
