JOB OVERVIEW 

Works with QA Manager and Sourcing Team to effectively perform technical activities for assigned categories, ensuring that the established QA protocols are adhered to and meet both Legal and TJX standards. The technical specialist works collaboratively with the Buying, Sourcing, Logistics and Product & Trade Compliance teams, aids and support when required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Collaborates with the Quality Manager, Sourcing, and Buyers to fully implement product quality, value, and design.Leads and ensures that all quality expectations and SOPs are strictly implemented.Trains key vendors to develop robust internal quality processes and drives quality initiatives to enhance processes at key vendor factories.Establishes and maintains a system to request, receive, and respond to all production sample inspections in a timely manner, ensuring all final quality checks and approvals for pre-production and production samples are completed.Establishes and fosters relationships with vendors to maintain regular and effective communication.Ensures all safety and labeling regulations are followed.Proactively prevents quality problems by establishing a system to inform problematic vendors that all items will be tested for weight, construction, shrinkage, etc.Conducts line walks on the factory floor to identify process gaps and escalates issues with the Vendor/Factory/QA/Sourcing team.Conducts and drives PPM meetings to mitigate any product risks.Takes ownership of becoming knowledgeable and current on TJX standards, initiatives, and industry practices for designated product categories. 

 

 JOB KNOWLEDGE 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 8 to 10 years supporting buying or sourcing operations.Hard home product knowledge.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Great organization, initiative, and analytical skills.Self-starter, able to work independently.Ability to communicate across organizational groups and levels internally and externally.High level of understanding of Excel, PowerPoint.Good follow through skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet corporate goals.
