Technical Specialist - Interior Systems Testing & Validation

This position supports the need for robust prevention and detection of Interior Systems failure modes potentially leading to customer dissatisfaction and campaigns.  The Interior Systems team needs a Cockpit and Trim focused Technical Specialist to gather and disseminate critical knowledge related to testing, validation and analytical robustness of tools. 

This position is a Technical Specialist role within the Interior Systems Cockpit and Trim team that maintains and consolidates Cockpit & Trim Design and Process validation history and best practice knowledge.  The focus of the position is to lead the D&R teams through the upfront test and validation process for new programs, educate the engineering teams on best practices, review test plans and test data for robustness and constantly improve analytical correlation to physical testing. 

Bachelor of Science in Engineering 10 years automotive industry experience  6 years experience in Product Development, preferably in Interior and Validation. Familiar with Testing Methods, Statistical Tools and CAE  Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills Ability to work cross-functionally at multiple levels within the organization Strong leadership skills, able to drive awareness and recognition of issues Understanding of assembly plant & supplier manufacturing methods and processes

Review, assess and modify DV methods on all requirements to ensure consistency with corporate requirements  Review FMA with D&Rs and ensure robust validation plans to capture real world customer issues in a timely manner.  Document new test methods and communicate with the core teams. Interface with Vehicle Engineering Validation teams to ensure the most efficient strategy for physical testing including location and methods.  Review and sign off on test data with the application teams  Attend Interior Systems Director/Chief Technical Design Reviews and Program  meetings to understand emerging issues and ICA/PCA actions. 

Train engineering teams in use of validation tools and statistical methods to analyze data.
