In our continuous journey of growth and innovation within the Maritime Team here at Carnival UK, we are seeking Technical Specifications Superintendent to bring fresh insights and expertise to our department.
Role Overview
Join our Maritime team as a Technical Support Specialist, where you will be responsible for providing technical support to the CUK Fleet, specifically relating to the preparation of technical specifications for specialist projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Subject Matter Expert: Act as Carnival UK's expert on the preparation (either in-house or outsourced) of technical specifications for major projects, ensuring commercial value through effective contracting based on sound specifications and technical detail.
• Specialist Support: Provide specialist support for main propulsion plants, diesel generation systems, engineering systems (including steam, cooling, and pipework), general mechanical engineering systems, and energy efficiency technologies.
• Project Planning and Management: Plan, manage, and deliver complex technical projects covering a wide range of technologies and equipment types, both in service and during docking periods.
• Liaison: Maintain close collaboration with internal and external parties, ensuring budget management and effective project completion.
• Asset Management: Work closely with ship teams, regulatory bodies, and suppliers to ensure operational risks are identified and managed effectively, and equipment and vessel availability is maintained to a high level.
Collaboration and Values:
• Teamwork: Collaborate with departments, stakeholders, and Global Talent Partners to deliver tasks on time and within budget, while adhering to Carnival UK's core values and cultural essentials.
• Operational Excellence: Develop and implement asset management strategies for engineering and mechanical systems, ensuring continuous improvement and high standards of performance.
This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organization and is available on a full-time , fixed term basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.
What You'll Bring:
Your unique background and skills are what will make you stand out. We're looking for:
• Degree or equivalent higher education qualification in a suitable Technical discipline.
• Experience of preparation of technical specifications to recognised standards.
• Knowledge of SOLAS, Class Rules & applicable Statutory Legislation.
Qualifications – desirable:
• Engineering Certificate of Competence (CoC)
• Chartered Membership of relevant Professional Institution
