About the role:

Trojan Technologies is seeking a Technical Support Controls Specialist to join our dynamic team in London, Ontario. This role plays a critical part in providing expert support for automation platforms, troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment, and ensuring the seamless operation of advanced systems both remotely and on-site. You will engage with both internal teams and external customers to resolve technical challenges related to controls systems, working autonomously and utilizing your technical expertise.

The essential responsibilities of the job include:

Programming and troubleshooting various automation platforms remotely on brand new equipment as well as systems that have been installedEngage with customers (both external as well as internal from other departments) via phone and e-mail to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment, computer systems, and software.Will have project-based work in a typical week10% of your “on site” days being at a customer’s site to work on a project tailored to a specific location

Are you qualified?

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Controls Engineering3+ years of experience in a Controls/Automation role3+ years of programming experience with Rockwell controls software or RS Logix 5000/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio ME, Siemens and/or Modicon/Schneider Electric controls, and Structured TextKnowledge of specific controls' software/hardware and serves as the technical authorityKnowledge of various software and communication protocols to assist and tackle integration of OEM equipment into overall plant network, VPN connections, remoteCapable of working autonomously, with minimal instruction, addressing multi-variate issuesExperience with the GE, Beijer, Wago are a plus
