Technical Support Engineer 1
**CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Support Engineer 1 opening for our client.** **Location:** Remote (Ideally East Coast) **Duration:** Ongoing Contract **Position Summary:** We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Support Engineer 1 to join our team. This entry-level role will focus on supporting network equipment configuration and deployment processes, working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of networking concepts and will use Ansible to generate and deploy configurations for switches, servers, and firewalls. **Key Responsibilities:** + Collaborate with internal teams to stage and configure network equipment, ensuring readiness for deployment. + Create and edit Virtual Smart Zones for wireless network solutions. + Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across Layer 1 to Layer 3 of the OSI model. + Conduct network configuration and basic setup tasks such as DHCP, VLANs, IP addressing, switching, and routing. + Ensure all configurations and deployments meet quality and compliance standards. + Work independently with a proactive approach, seeking guidance as needed. + Communicate effectively with team members to clarify tasks and resolve technical challenges. + Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all configuration and deployment tasks. **Skills:** + Strong foundational knowledge of DHCP, VLANs, IP addressing, switching, and routing. + Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols. + Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management (preferred). + Familiarity with Ruckus Virtual Smart Zone or similar wireless network solutions (preferred). + Basic troubleshooting across Layer 1 to Layer 3 of the OSI model. + Ability to run basic bash scripts and use basic Linux commands. + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines. + High attention to detail and organizational skills. **Experience:** + Previous experience in a technical support or networking role is a plus, but not required. + CCNA or equivalent certification is preferred, but not necessary. **Education:** + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + CCNA or similar certification is a plus but not required. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $26.65 to $33.31 per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
