Job Description

  

Job Summary:

Reporting to the supervisor of Integrated Solutions camera support, the Technical Support Engineer (TSE) performs in-house and off-site evaluation and support of FLIR ITS products for key customers throughout US and Canada. The TSE is embedded within the Integrated Solutions support group and will be required to travel periodically to customer sites to perform post-sales support and service on Integrated Solutions cameras.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

Provide application and product support to customers as well as internal teams.Take appropriate steps to bring any open support cases to resolution in a timely manner.Provide remote and onsite technical support to internal and external customers.Instruct and assist technical support representatives on how to troubleshoot applications and/or products.Own support cases to their complete resolution.Provide reports to and interact with product engineering and issues that have been identified.Create internal and external knowledge base articles based on questions asked by customers and product information provided by engineering.Maintain the information available on the customer support portal, ensuring documentation, software, and knowledge base articles are up to date.

Job Qualifications:

A technical degree in electronics is required.Five years of experience as a support engineer preferably within the traffic and/or security electronics industry is required.Applicants must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to both domestic and international customer sites for a period of approximately 2 to 5 days per trip.This position requires a mature professional who can work autonomously while collaborating with sales, product management, support and service colleagues to deliver a positive customer experience under demanding conditions.Proven experience with technical installations of CCTV equipment, servers and network equipment is required.Must have full command of MS office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of current Linux OS (CentOS / Red hat), Windows Server and Docker platforms. Knowledge of Python scripting is a plus.Must be a results-oriented professional with solid organizational and time management skills.This is a customer-facing position that requires strong verbal and written communication skills in English, additional languages are a plus.
