The Role

Are you ready to embark on a technical adventure and become a hero to our external and internal users? As Technical Support at Kyndryl, you'll be part of an elite team that provides exceptional technical assistance, enabling our clients to achieve their desired business outcomes. 

You'll be a troubleshooter extraordinaire, diagnosing and repairing complex equipment, software, and systems with ease. Nothing will be too challenging for you to solve as you respond to escalated issues, report critical design flaws, reliability and maintenance problems, and bugs.

You'll be the go-to person for our customers who require assistance with highly technical or sophisticated products, as well as for customer installations and training. With your passion for technology, you'll provide world-class support that exceeds customer expectations.

As Technical Support, you'll perform varying degrees of problem determination and resolution of desktop hardware and software issues using your technical expertise and available resources to ensure that our customers' issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. You'll also have the opportunity to perform installs, moves, adds, and changes (IMAC) activities, as well as data backup and restore on certain accounts for clients, ensuring that all related administrative duties are completed within Service Level Agreement objectives.

You will develop a deep understanding of the local and regional infrastructure, as well as key contacts in other competencies, which will enable you to ensure that the proper team is aware of – and taking action on the problem.

You will be responsible to serve as an escalation point to resolve problems on Linux servers and user environments. You will design and document processes and procedures to automate common tasks. You will work closely with application Teams, DatabaseAdministrators, and Q/A personnel & Mentor junior Linux systems administrators. Provide root cause and failure analysis to resolve systems problems & Extending support with onsite engineers to address any network related issues.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

8+ Years of total experience in IT and 7+ years of relevant experience in Linux.

Experience in Perl scripting to automate aspects of systems maintenance & Configure and install new Linux Servers (RHEL and SUSE).

Linux systems performance, tuning, and enhancements & Install patches, configure machines and provide overall support of the Linux environment.

Strong working knowledge of virtualization technologies and VMware products.

Strong scripting knowledge: Perl scripting, or bash, or Python; and command line utilities.

Must be able to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively & Understanding of basic and intermediate TCP/IP and internet protocols required.

Experience managing many mission critical servers & Strong knowledge of RHEL and VCS clusters installation, configuration and implementation.

Good experience on yum configurations and RHN network troubleshooting.

Hands on experience with SSH, NFS, DNS and LDAP, Redhat Satellite, PXE boot strategy and kick start.

Excellent understanding and knowledge of Networking and Storage Technologies.

Excellent working knowledge on the Linux and Veritas file system and logical volume management.

Knowledge of EMC technology, Time finder, BCV, SRDF.

Involved in preparing the scripts and cronjobs for regular task automation.

Experience with Tomcat and/or WebSphere application server a plus & Ability to handle heavy workloads with limited supervision.

Good team player - one who can prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment.


Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

Cisco certified.

Experience with network automation/scripting.

Bachelor's Degree.

Familiar with Apache webserver configuration.
