As a Technical Trainer for Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) in the greater Cary/Mebane, North Carolina area, you will be responsible for for Residential, Commercial, and Industrial equipment and empower project training for internal, external, and distributor audiences.This role will be able to work a hybrid-remote schedules in the greater Cary, NC area, with the responsibility to be onsite (at least bi-weekly) to deliver and coordinate in-person trainings.

Your responsibilities

Prepares and delivers training courses in classroom or on site and follows up post training day activities (example given course feedback collection, arrangement of facilities and equipment, possible corrective action on course material and equipment)Ensures safe working conditions for training course participants in accordance with ABB safety instructions and regulationsDevelops course material for classroom and onsite training in own area of responsibility and advises on updates needed in e learning materialCreates and updates course descriptions and course programsTakes into consideration feedback given on courses and implements corrective action when neededShares own expertise in service developmentMaintenance of training facilities and equipmentKeeps classroom facilities tidy and in a condition that enables safe implementation of training coursesProcures and maintains course equipment for training courses in own area of responsibilityKeeps in close contact with technical Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, Sales and other stakeholder groups that support implementation of training course development and deliverySupports course administration in making course arrangements and in answering course enquiries and proposals for training coursesSupports field service and other teams or units when necessary, by using own expertise in technical support tasks and rolesEnsures that HSE requirements are integrated and up to date in all business processes and applications used for trainings driven by the trainerResponsible for ensuring excellent customer service and securing high level of customer satisfaction in the trainings

Your background

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field (or significant relevant experience in lieu of degree) with minimum of 2 years of experience in the electrical industry working as a technical trainer with LV (Low Voltage) equipment and configurator training OR 5 years of industry experienceSound knowledge of LV electrical equipment and the electrical distributor marketKnowledge of SAP or similar MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system and configuratorsStrong fundamentals in Adult learning, PowerPoint and ExcelStrong presentation and communication skillsAvailability to travel to deliver trainingsCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
