Technical Trainer

Report to: SEO Manager

Required Education/ Background: 

Bachelor's degree in automotive, Education and extensive experience in the automotive industry, with a strong background in technical training, service in automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.

Good familiarity with automotive technical training processes 

Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostics methods and practices.

Computer literacy and competency with the basic Microsoft Office suite

Minimum experience:

At least 3-year experience in automotive technical training

Others

Strong skills & knowledge on Automotive technology.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate trainees through interactive learning activities and demonstrations.

Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools, software, and equipment, with the ability to demonstrate proper operation and troubleshooting techniques.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address training gaps, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Delivery technical training on Curriculum training (Level 1, 2 & 3), new model training, Performance improvement training to technicians across dealership networks in market.

Review technical training materials and market relevant adjustment that retain high quality of technical training such as Curriculum, New model training and market special course to improve “Fix It Right First Time” (FIRFT) in market.

Training material translation review, feedback and rectify (local language).

Provide of trainer voice over process for eLearning development.

Develop special training courses such as FIRFT based on market required.

Arrange and Ensure training material readiness for training such as below.

Power Point / Presentation materials

Student Information

Practical Activity Worksheets.

Assessment Questions and Answer Documents.

Prepare training room and working bay readiness before conduct classroom training, include teaching aids, tools & equipment, and training vehicles, include admin task.

Provide in-depth instruction to technician on Ford vehicle systems, components, and technologies, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and steering by following IMG curriculum.

Conduct hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to reinforce technician to apply their knowledge in Ford vehicle for FRIFT.

Delivery and ensure that training programs comply with relevant industry regulations, safety standards.

Ensure and maintain training facility, tools & equipment for readiness and safety, include conduct Training Facility Safety audit.

Update training attendance & student completion details to ensure the training history data and learner records in STARS are up-to-date and accurate.

Improve trainer skill & knowledge via eLearning, Trainer the Trainer (TTT) or practical activities.

Support to improve class fill rate via follow up dealers/ technicians and guide them for their certification paths or learning step that need to be completed for certify technician.

Support market activities

Conduct technician skill contest in market such as design activities for contestant and evaluation, etc.

Support market activities such as Reward and Recognition program, School to Work program (Apprentice program), Bridge program for technician from other OEMs.

Support market SEO lead for ad-hoc assigned task and report to training Lead.

Position communication and Working Relationships

Cooperate with training development or design team to review and adjust materials to readiness before delivery training.

Cooperate with training development or design team on translation process to review materials in local language and readiness before delivery training.

Cooperate with STARS (Training administration app), Market SEO (FSE-Field Service Engineer/SZM-Service Zone Manager) for technician nomination to improve class fill rate.

Cooperate with market SEO/FSE/Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to identify special market need to improve FIRFT and reduce Vehicle Off-Road (VOR) aging days.

Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, assessment, and outcomes, then record in STARS.

Technician competency target level mix and special area achievement: Technician counts, Technician trained, Technician attrition, Technician competency (Level mix) /dealer competency (specialist), Master Tech per dealer.

Training delivery metric:  Training plan & delivery, Training class fill rate, Trainer Delivery Days, Trainer Satisfaction, Training Satisfaction, FIRFT
