Under general supervision of the Manager of Production Process Training, the Technical Training Specialist develops, coordinates, and conducts technical skill-based training for production employees with an emphasis on the equipment operation, theory and basic techniques. The Training Specialist is responsible for developing training modules and manuals within a framework provided by the training department, conducting needs assessments utilizing needs assessment tools provided by the training department for all manufacturing technical skill-based training, and maintaining the training record databases for manufacturing trainees. The position must evaluate trainees’ performance and make recommendations for retraining or release to appropriate department supervisor. The Training Specialist creates and maintains metrics then communicates information regarding those metrics with area supervisors. The role performs annual re-qualification certifications as necessary.

Essential job duties
Coordinate, schedule and conduct technical skill-based training based upon established curricula Recommend, implement, and administer OTJ and classroom training to enhance employee work performance Perform training needs assessments/analysis (using provided tools), and initiate, develop, and/or coordinate the implementation of specific technical skills training for manufacturing employees based on the assessment, with oversight and approval of the training manager Develop knowledge/skill assessment testing using provided tools, for employees in line with department/job requirements Develop and implement training modules and manuals utilizing provided framework and with training department approvals for manufacturing employees Establish and maintain logs, metrics, filing, and record keeping systems and ensure that all relevant training records are complete, accurate, and up-to-date for all initial training and retraining of employees Establish and maintain annual retraining certifications for all employees Coordinate pre-manufacturing meetings that will review all relevant documentation for a specific process Interface with manufacturing personnel for their specific departmentEducation, experience, certification and licensures
Required
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or equivalent environmentPreferred
Pharmaceutical manufacturing experienceKnowledge, skills and abilities
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write and edit technical documents, SOPs, instructions write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Supervisor s, clients, customers, and the general public Ability to apply basic math concepts Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access, as this individual will perform work within these systems on a routine basis Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to organize time in order to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities Ability to read, understand, interpret and implement technical writing and instructions Effective inter-personal relation skills, while maintaining the adaptability to achieve company goals Verbally expresses ideas and facts in a clear, logical, concise and in accepted grammatical stylePhysical requirements
