Technical Writer - PCI Compliance & Security Documentation
Location: Preferred: Burbank | Open to: New York, Florida, Seattle
Duration: 4 Months with possible extension.
Role Overview:
Seeking an experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in compliance-related documentation. This role focuses on updating and standardizing documentation to align with PCI 4.0 and 4.01 requirements within the PCI compliance program. The writer will develop and improve SOPs, policies, work instructions, and training materials while ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Write and edit technical and compliance documents, including policies, SOPs, and work instructions.Translate IT processes and security requirements into user-friendly documentation.Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by engineers, developers, and compliance teams.Maintain document control, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as SOX, CCPA, PII, PCI (SOC 1 Type II), and SOC 2.Monitor regulatory changes and update policies accordingly.Conduct security assessments, continuous monitoring, and documentation of IT security controls.Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement continuous control monitoring mechanisms.Technical Stack:

3+ years of technical writing experience, specifically in compliance documentation (not technical design).Strong knowledge of IT security domains, including Identity & Access Management, Security Architecture, and Security Operations.Experience working in a global media or entertainment enterprise, supporting accounting and finance departments.Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements (SOX, SSAE, IAS).Familiarity with compliance frameworks (COBIT, NIST, CIS Baselines, vendor security implementation guides).Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.Strong project and program management skills for prioritizing tasks.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience conducting security assessments and documenting control processes.Ability to design continuous control monitoring mechanisms.Strong research skills for consulting regulatory sources and ensuring compliance.Education:
