Ibotta is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our UX team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. As part of our team, you’ll support our brand clients and publishers by creating clear, detailed, and user-friendly documentation. Reporting to the Content Design Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver content that helps our clients and partners better understand and utilize our products and services. This role is crucial in ensuring that brand clients and publishers have the information they need to succeed, from onboarding through ongoing use.
This is a new role at Ibotta, and with that comes the unique opportunity to evolve the position and its function within the organization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who’s practiced at bringing clarity to ambiguous spaces.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office, (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.
What you will be doing:
Develop and maintain external-facing documentation for brand clients and publishers, including integration guides, FAQs, and product instructions.
Collaborate with product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure documentation aligns with business goals and client needs.
Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand materials for non-technical audiences, focusing on clarity and usability.
Create onboarding materials and user guides that assist brand clients and publishers in maximizing the value of our products and services.
Work closely with account managers and support teams to gather feedback from clients & publishers to continuously improve documentation based on their needs.
Manage documentation updates as products evolve, ensuring that brand clients and publishers always have access to the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Review and edit documentation written by subject matter experts or other contributors to maintain quality and alignment with our style guidelines.
Contribute to the development of content standards and best practices for client-facing materials, ensuring consistency across all documentation.
Assist in building a content strategy that improves engagement and supports long-term client and partner relationships.

What we are looking for:
3+ years of experience in technical writing, ideally with a focus on external documentation in a technology-driven environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Information Design, Journalism, or a related field.
Proven experience creating end-user documentation such as user guides, API documentation, onboarding manuals, and help center articles, with writing samples to demonstrate your experience.
Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and documentation tools such as Zendesk, Confluence, Jira, Hubspot, or other documentation systems.
Ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders including engineering, marketing, and product, to ensure alignment on documentation goals.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to distill technical information into concise, clear content for non-technical audiences.
Detail-oriented mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, polished content.
Experience or interest in UX Writing and Content Design is a plus, though not required.
Ability to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
A deep curiosity for understanding users and empathizing with their problems.

Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO, and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, a benefits package (including medical, dental, and vision), a Lifestyle Spending Account, an Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.
Base compensation range: $71,000-80,000. Equity is included in the overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
